Martin Lukes is Chief Great Leader of a-b glöbâl (UK), a subsidiary of a-b glöbâl, a Fortune 500 company based in Atlanta. Over the last six years his career progression has been exponential, rising from Marketing Director of a-b glöbâl (UK) to Chief of Staff, Office of the CEO, making him briefly one of the most senior British executives on the US business scene. Before taking up his current position he was Chief Personal Ethics Champion.
In fapt, dupa cum probabil ati intuit, Martin este un personaj de fictiune. Este gazduit in fiecare joi intr-o rubrica a cotidianului amintit, nu printr-un simplu text, ci printr-o colectie de email-uri din viata sa: la locul de munca si in afara lui (cateva exemple urmeaza mai jos). Foarte interesant e ca, mai mult decat din orice descriere, ajungem sa cunoastem personajul foarte bine. Fie ca este vorba despre rolul si locul sau in organizatie, fie despre viata sa familiala (inclusiv aventurile cu secretara).
Sigur, problema este mai larga, caci mi se pare ca autorul real, autoarea de fapt, Lucy Kellaway surprinde excelent comunicarea alambicata, cu dublu-sens si chiar fara sens din organizatii. Mai ales ca, sunt convins ca oricare dintre noi am ramas deseori perplecsi in fata unor “capodopere” electronice…

Hi!
Next week I will be returning to Atlanta. I am bidding you farewell with humungous sadness. These last weeks have been a total blast. Together we have teamed and dreamed and travelled a long way to delivering on our roadmap for a-b glöbâl UK.
Until we have a new CEO in Atlanta, we cannot appoint a UK chairman. However, I am thrilled to say that Dominic Rich and Jenny Withers have agreed to step up to the plate and together fill the job of acting chairman of a-b glöbâl UK.
